My work has always started with building. Sometimes that means restoring a building that is older than anyone who works on it. Sometimes it means starting a company, designing a system, or making something that did not exist the day before.

The materials change. The standard does not: work that is useful, durable, and human, and that leaves something worth keeping behind.

What a person has learned should stay connected to them, and stay useful. Most of what people know is never written down. It lives in judgment and habit, and it is lost too easily.

Carrying it forward, with the person still attached, is worth building. Cemerix is where I am working on that.
